Assigning BCM communities to Weed Habitat Groups

 

Previously, Weed Threat Region could be assigned after field data collection, at the point of data entry, purely based on location. The revised procedure will require the decision to be made by the field officer on the basis of the

 

  • rainfall,

  • soil type

  • understorey type criteria described above,

 

and recorded on the datasheet. As a guide, in the following table, each BCM community has been assigned to a weed habitat group. Where a BCM community could potentially occur in more than one of the new weed habitat groups, it was assigned to the one where the BCM community most frequently occurs.
