2-Day Course - Morialta 19-20 June 2018

Covering all aspects of the method, including:
• Recognizing plant communities
• Site selection and quadrat set up
• Describing vegetation and vegetation structure
• Making a species list
• Estimating % Cover and Population Size
• Recognizing and scoring regeneration and grazing
• Scoring tree health and dieback;
• Scoring Hollows and Fallen Logs
• Estimating feral animal and kangaroo abundance from signs
The course is half in the classroom and half in the field, providing a sound introduction to the theory, and the opportunity to learn and practice fundamental skills of plant ecology in the field.
The usual field gear is required: lunch, hat, sunscreen, rain gear, water bottle, long-sleeved shirt and long pants, sturdy boots, clip-board and pencil. Datasheets will be provided.
A reasonable level of fitness and balance is required.
